Abstract
- The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) contains relatively little about human rights at sea. This has been highlighted by a recent report in the UK, and civil society has taken an initiative on the issue. This article first analyses how the various human rights bodies have handled complaints arising in the maritime sphere. It then considers the extent to which UNCLOS and other international agreements have protected human rights. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
