Abstract

In this way, songs became a particular trigger that invoked the Cultural Revolution generation's memories of the Cultural Revolution. Through specific stories drawn from oral history interviews, Ouyang demonstrates that emotional attachments which individuals developed to songs of the Cultural Revolution made revolutionary music beyond political propaganda.
