Abstract
- Management of midface fractures remains a challenging task for the surgeons in determining the best suitable treatment. Midface degloving approach is a versatile technique which utilizes both the intraoral and intranasal incisions offering wide exposure to the midface skeleton. In the present series the author presents four cases of midface fracture which includes 1 Zygomatic maxillary complex fractures, 1 Lefort II fracture, 1 Lefort III fracture and 1 Naso-orbital-ethmoid fractures approached through midface degloving technique. Transient infraorbital nerve paresthesia was evident in case of Lefort II and Lefort III fracture. Lateral nasal cartilage deformity was witnessed in a case operated for naso-orbital-ethmoid fracture. The employment of midface degloving approach provides excellent accessibility and greater degree of exposure intraoperatively with minimal morbidity postoperatively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
