Abstract
- The article presents information about the artist Kathy Buchanan's red saltbox house in Sutton, Massachusetts. At the entrance to the Buchanans' home, a picket fence encloses a perennial garden of herbs and flowers for cutting. Nineteenth-century furnishings fill the keeping room that adjoins the kitchen. Assorted chairs, including a youth chair with its original paint. surround a well worn sawbuck table. The cupboard holds Kathy's pottery collection, for use and display. The couple chose furniture that would bring a sense of Massachusetts history to their new home.
