Abstract
- This paper suggests that the failures of the American left are not in its egalitarian values, but in the means it uses to realizes those values. It suggests the strategies the left would follow in the United States if it took the findings of the social sciences more seriously than it currently does. In the aftermath of the collapse of the global justice movement, the failure of the Nader presidential campaign, and the shock of September 11th, it is time for the left to make a fresh start.
