Ensuring Safety of Elderly Persons' Life and Property Safety according to Elderly Person Act, 2003, Thailand.

Abstract
- This qualitative research aimed to study problems of elderly persons' life and property safety patterns in Thailand in accordance with Elderly Person Act, 2003. The study adopted a cross-sectional analytical approach with a sample of 21 retired public and private officials and the elderly from general population as key informants. The sample selection process was in accordance with the patterns stated in Elderly Person Act (2003) ensuring the elderly's life and property safety. A structured interview schedule was used for data collection. The literature review approach was also used to collect data and provide a theoretical basis to determine whether the current research was consistent with the previous studies. The results revealed that current problems of elderly's life and property safety were accidents, violence against the elderly, and health problems. For the effective model of ensuring the elderly's life and property safety in Thailand, the overall management must be improved as well as law, environment, housing, society, community. Furthermore, cooperation in ensuring the elderly's life and property safety in Thailand required cooperation from the public sector, private sector, and local community. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
