Lega Lombarda as a political expression of localism.

In this essay lags Lombarda is viewed as the political expression of a more general phenomenon concerning the emergence of «local societies». In the present situation there are social, political and economic factors which contribute to define what could be called «localism», that is the emergence of the local dimension as the canter for a new form of social aggregation. In this essay, this local reorganization is viewed as a structural process and Legs Lombarda is considered one sign of this trend. Lega Lombarda is thus analyzed under two main respects: the way in which it generates political consensus; the modes of its political communication. The conclusion points out that, according to the theoretical approach taken here, the process of local reorganization entails new political strategies grounded on a renewed interpretation of the social realm.
