Abstract
- The article focuses on the Netherlands Sociological Society. The Society was founded in 1936. Its original intention was to bring together the practitioners of the various social sciences to study each others methods and results. The society holds a meeting twice a year, at which two or three papers are presented which are subsequently published in the form of a yearbook. The society, which numbers over seven hundred members, also has three work groups in the field of industrial sociology. Finally, it has taken the initiative in publishing "Sociologia Neerlandica." The year 1963 has been a very important one for the Netherlands Sociological Society. For in the course of this year the reorganization committee instituted at an earlier date concluded its activities by the submission of a report. In this report directives are given for an entirely new policy, in which the members will be more closely concerned and by which the aim of the Society "to promote sociology as a science" will be pursued in a more varied fashion.
