Abstract

Shells are waste in the aquaculture industry. Due to its rich natural porous surface and biological activity, it has good adsorption. Shells can effectively reduce the content of various pollutants in water. In this paper, the oyster shell powder was modified with FC3O4, and the microstructure before and after modification was analyzed by SEM. The results show that the shell powder modified with Fe3O4 improves the porosity. Through the adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics study, it is found that the absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus by Fe3O4 modified shell powder conforms to the quasi-first-order kinetic model and Freundlich model. Optimization of parameters were carried out. The nitrogen adsorption capacity of Fe3O4 modified shell powder reached 126.01 mg/g, while the phosphorus adsorption capacity also reached 85.34 mg/g, which is superior to the unmodified oyster shell powder.
