Abstract
- This article examines the effects of documentary films as teaching devices, particularly on visual education. In this type of film which can be entertaining as well as didactic, some attempt is made to keep more strictly to the values and facts of real life, and to the details of the lives and occupations of ordinary people. Two sub-classes of documentary films are worth noting. The first one finds a straight-forward factual representation of some real life situation. In the other sub-class are included what might be called social documentaries.
