Abstract

The ewes had a mean FWEC result of 702 trichostrongyle and three I Nematodirus battus i epg and the lambs had 315 trichostrongyle and 666 I N. battus i epg. On 28 May 2020, faecal samples were taken from 10 ewes and 10 lambs from the same hill-ground as the affected lamb. Tapeworm infections in lambs are usually incidental, albeit there are anecdotal reports of heavy burdens causing morbidity or mortality (Elliott [7]; Dorchies, [6]; Liu I et al. i [14]).
