Vas Slapnik v Goriških brdih.

The contribution presents a settlement monument – the village of Slapnik and its architectural heritage. Due to its organic spatial setting and unique architecture, Slapnik was proclaimed the cultural monument of local significance with a municipal decree of 1985. After reaching its maximum development at the turn of the twentieth century, the village experienced the greatest emigration wave after 1947, following the demarcation of the new state border between Italy and Yugoslavia, which cut its inhabitants’ economic and transport historical ties from Friuli. Today, Slapnik no longer has permanent residents and the buildings are falling to ruin.
