Abstract

A pre-departure briefing is normally given to expatriates to make certain that important items have been taken care of, both as an individual and as an employee of the company. It is the final discussion and farewell before the employee leaves for an ASSIGNMENT. This briefing should emphasize the support systems for the employee and family members which are available, as well as bolster their confidence prior to the actual move. The real reason for a pre-departure briefing is to make certain that "surprises" during travel or upon arrival are kept to a minimum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
