Abstract

This article focuses on the summer course program for high school journalism teachers and publications supervisors offered by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh journalism department, Wisconsin. The teachers literally exchanged roles with their own high school students. They suddenly and without fanfare found themselves covering campus beats, writing stories, rewriting (for some an uneasy experience at first), typesetting on the department's modern computerized production equipment, proofreading, and editing. The course was so practical that the final "research" paper called for a design of a model high school journalism publications program at each teachers high school.
