Abstract
- This article reviews U.S. copyright laws, focusing on two legal doctrines, the work for hire doctrine and the fair use doctrine, and their implications for distance learning. The article also explores ethical and pedagogical issues arising from distance learning and the involvement of higher education unions. The paper concludes with directions for future policies and research pertaining to faculty intellectual property rights in the context of online delivery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
