Abstract

Highlights from the article: Serving the Needs of Transgender and Gender-Diverse Persons in Radiology Transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) persons experience an inner sense of gender that does not align with the sex assigned to them at birth [1]. A rising prevalence of TGD persons in the United States (an estimated 1.4 million or 1 in 250 adults) coupled with increasing desire and insurance coverage for TGD health services has fueled a need for knowledgeable providers of gender-affirming hormonal and surgical therapies [1].
