The modern state of wood biomass gasification technologies and their economic efficiency.

Abstract This paper presents an overview of state-of-the-art in single- and multistage wood biomass gasification technologies and assesses their economic efficiency. We compare the cost of electricity generated through the use of different types of fuel (gas, diesel, coal, wood chips and wood pellets) and show that the most promising technology for processing biomass is multi-stage gasification.
