Abstract
- Typhoid and paratyphoid fever are acute, life-threatening febrile illnesses caused by systemic infection with the bacterium <italic>Salmonella enterica</italic>. Nineteen cases were reported in South Africa in 2016. We report on two cases of bacteraemic invasive <italic>S. typhi</italic> with fluoroquinolone resistance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
