Abstract

This volume presents the selected papers of young computational scientists – participants of YSC-2017. Annual Young Scientist Conferences (YSC) in high performance computing, modeling and simulation are traditionally held since 2012 by the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and ITMO University (St. Petersburg, Russia) as the open international events which aim to develop a dialogue about the present and future of computational science with a focus on applications of modeling and simulation solving a wide range of problems of science, industry, and business. The conference has already been organized for six times, which gives us an opportunity for retrospective analysis of conference’ results and trends in high performance computing (HPC). The results are presented in this editorial. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
