Abstract
- The article reports that, two yellow perch caught only a day apart in March 2003 are poised to break the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Big Fish Registry record for perch, a 2.25-pounder taken out of Lake Erie in June 1995. Wil Wegman of the Aurora Ministry of Natural Resources office, reports that John Delicata of Alcona caught a 2.35-pound perch on March 21, 2003 from Lake Simcoe in the Gilford area, a well known late-ice spot for giant yellows. Wegman, himself a perch fanatic, says that, unknown to Delicata, angler Dave Leslie had hauled out a 2.42-pound perch from the Long Beach area of Lake Erie the previous day.
