Abstract

The article discusses the benefits of physical experience of historical timelines in supporting student learning outcomes (SLOs) in the U.S. The benefits include increased retention, deeper understanding of a prominent religious ritual, better critical thinking and reading skills, and ability to navigate historical social landscapes. It also mentions that student gain an understanding of the sensory experience and inherent logic of the historical actors they are studying.
