The article discusses the Irish soldier of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers (RDF) Patick Carroll's eyewitness account of the June 7, 1917 explosion of Messines Ridge, Belgium in World War I, or the Great War. An overview of Carroll's report of the German soldier casualties caused by the Messines Ridge explosion is provided.
