Abstract
- A biography is presented for Sir William Osler, born in Ontario in 1849, son of an Anglican missionary. He studied medicine at the Toronto School of Medicine and McGill University, studied in Europe, and was named Professor of the Institutes of Medicine at McGill at age 25. He then taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins medical school, then was appointed Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University in 1905. He died in 1919. His book collection was the foundation of the Osler Library at McGill.
