Abstract

The article focuses on understanding why glacial ice in the polar regions of the Earth is melting at a speedy pace. The difference between glacier, ice sheet, and ice shelf is mentioned. It states the Project MIDAS which is making a research on the growing crack in a giant ice shelf, called Larsen C, on the off coast of Antarctica. The complication of the Larsen C’s crack-up is emphasized.
