Abstract
- Pure lithium titanate (Li<subscript>4</subscript>Ti<subscript>5</subscript>O<subscript>12</subscript>) nanoparticles were synthesized at low temperature via a new simple method. First, amorphous titanium dioxide (TiO<subscript>2</subscript>) nanoparticles with a high surface area (624m² g<superscript>-1</superscript>) were prepared by using tetrahydrofuran (THF) as a solvent in the hydrolysis reaction of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) at room temperature. Pure Li<subscript>4</subscript>Ti<subscript>5</subscript>O<subscript>12</subscript> nanoparticles with a particle size of 10-30 nm were obtained by introducing Li<superscript>+</superscript> into the amorphous TiO<subscript>2</subscript> nanoparticles at room temperature.
