Probabilistic approach evaluates reliability of pipelines with corrosion defects.

The article discusses the evaluation of reliability of hydrocarbon pipelines with the help of probabilistic approach. It offers information on the active corrosion defects in the pipelines, and focuses on the correlation of input variables. The assessment of the pipeline reliability is done with two approaches including deterministic approach, and probabilistic, using the method of Monte Carlo (MC) simulation.
