Abstract

The article discusses a study on influences and motivations in choosing to become a mathematics teacher in the U.S. The study identified four main sources of influences to become a teacher: family influences, teacher influences, peer-influences, and teaching experience. It conducted a survey of undergraduate students who were asked about their career option.
