Abstract
- The influence of moving dislocations on the optical properties of precipitates formed by Eu<superscript>2+</superscript> ions in NaCl single crystals is studied. The process of reconfiguration of the precipitated phase caused by interaction with the dislocations during plastic flow is detected using a luminescence technique. It is established that gliding dislocations transform the precipitates initially formed by aggregation into new centres of luminescence: plate-like two-dimensional precipitates are destroyed by dislocations to become small clusters and three-dimensional precipitates are transformed into new (previously unknown) luminescent centres.
