Abstract
- The article provides information on the role of cultural variables in the fertility patterns among Russian immigrants to Israel. Objective conditions such as urbanization, industrialization and a rise in the education and employment of women, have long-term effects on changes in the norms, value judgment and attitudes of individuals. The main problem in examining the direct or indirect effects of cultural factors is the difficulty in characterizing and measuring the cultural variables in some independent way.
