Abstract
- The article focuses on experiments related to color changes caused by white light emitting diode lighting to improve museum lighting and pleasant zone rule for color preference developed by A. Kruithof, lamp development engineer with Philips Lighting in the Netherlands. Topics discussed include recommendation for museum lighting to reduce damage to museum objects from optical radiation, accelerated aging for determination of effect of correlated color temperature (CCT) on visual perception in the museum, and reduction in visibility and warmth components as influence of luminance and CCT. Other topics include change in yellow area due to contact of halogen incandescent lamps and comparison with International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO) standards.
