Abstract

The article describes the case of a 21 year old collegiate running back who was tackled during a football game and sustained a posterior glenohumeral disclocation that was reduced with traction performed by the athletic trainer on the field. Magnetic resonance imaging indicated a complete tear of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus. He underwent surgery to repair rotator cuff tears and was referred to physical therapy for passive range of motion for 6 weeks.
