Abstract

The article reports that Delilah Creek, a stream in California that drain directly to the Smith River estuary, has been contaminated with higher levels of copper based on the water tests conducted by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board in August 2010. The use of varied pesticides in the farming of Easter lily crops is noted to be the major cause of the water contamination which has led to chronic reproductive toxicity and impairment of salmon habitat.
