Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the potential smallmouth bass introductions into lakes of central Ontario to better guide prevention efforts. The study uses artificial neural network to predict lakes that are likely to be invaded by bass based on the local and regional environmental variables for 3046 central Ontario lakes. The study concludes the optimization of efforts to prevent further impacts by focusing on the vulnerable subset of lakes.
