Abstract

The article presents the study on the net primary production (NPP) of the U.S Midwest croplands. It states that counties in several states including Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa had coverage of several crops including oats, barley, and corn. It mentions that areas of highest NPP were dominated by the cultivation of corn and soybean.
