Work in Progress: Common Core Implementation at Middle School.

An interview with history teachers Jasmin Brown and Shomara Gooden at the Cesar Chavez Middle School in California, is presented. Brown explains how the Common Core Standards have impacted the college and career readiness of her school's students. Gooden reflects on the development of the students' literacy skills due to Common Core. She also discusses how the instruction of social studies has become multidimensional and exciting by training students to look into the relevance of texts.
