Abstract
- The article assesses the potential of massive open online courses (MOOC) to meet federal training needs in the fields of cybersecurity and data analytics. It presents the case of Cybrary, a company that offers free courses on a range of cyber skills, and how it responded to the 2013 budget sequestration and government shutdown. An overview of the result of a data analysis of participation in MOOCs is presented. It also outlines the MOOCs offered by universities that can help boost IT skills.
