Abstract

The article discusses research investigating the role of fungal immunomodulatory protein (FIP-fve) isolated from Flammulina velutipes in alleviation of asthma and inflammation induced from house dust mite (HDM) Dermatophagoides microceras (Der m) in mice. Topics discussed include HDM as a major risk factor for asthma, evaluation of hyper-responsiveness (AHR), pathological changes, and cytokines in mice, and suppression of asthma, inflammation, and respiratory pathogenesis from FIP-fve.
