Abstract
- The article discusses how Canadian companies such as the pulp and paper firm AbitibiBowater Inc. and the mining company OceanaGold Corp. have challenged various governments in countries such as El Salvador, Mongolia, and the U.S. as of 2015, and it provides a map of the world which highlights the locations of Canadian investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) cases. It states that Canadian investors and business enterprises have filed 54 known ISDS cases against 24 national governments.
