Abstract

The U.S. Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is quietly making inroads into traditionally Republican corners of K Street, hosting a series of meetings designed to convince various industry lobbyists that Democrats share portions of their agendas. The sessions are mostly held in the morning in the Fairchild Building on the House side of Capitol Hill. According to the DCCC spokeswoman, lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry, which contributes heavily to Republicans, discussed efforts supported by Democrats to increase funding for research and development.
