Abstract
- The article presents a study which suggests that Chlamydia pecorum strains similar to 22-58 and 24-100 might be endemic in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan and cause enteric disease in cattle. Topics include the isolation of C. pecorum (22-58) from the jejunum of a calf which died of necrotizing enterocolitis in 2010, the isolation of C. pecorum (24-100) from the feces of a calf with diarrhea in 2012, and the significant increase in neutralizing antibody titers against C. percorum in paired sera.
