Abstract: The article discusses research which analyzed the propeller-rudder interaction by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Topics discussed include the importance of the interaction between the propeller wake and the rudder for the improvement of the ship design, the numerical model based on the integration of the unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) and the evolution of the tip vortex.
