Abstract
- This article reports on the plan of Australia's Liberal National Party to host an International Women's Day (IWD) function in March 2015 at Tatterall's male-only club in Brisbane. Topics covered include comment from Australian Prime Minister and Minister for Women Tony Abbott about his lunching at the men's club at IWD, the emergence of IWD from activism in the labour movements of North America and Europe in the early 1900s, and the celebration of the first IWD in 1911.
