Abstract: The article presents a study that explored the role of genetic variants within the 8q24 region in the risk of differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The study analyzed six single-nucleotide polymorphisms within 8q24 and highlighted the tissue-specificity of this chromosomal segment in relation to human cancer.
