An introduction is presented in which the authors talk about several topics discussed in the issue including study on the Correia Report by Alexander Keese, study on African women from the lower social classes in Angola by Mariana Candido, and study on West Africa's chronicle "Tarikh al-fattash" by Mauro Nobili and Mohamed Shahid Mathee.
