Abstract
- The article presents a study to assess the status of cave bats by surveying bats in well-known caves and forest on limestone on Bohol Island in the central Philippines. The study also assessed cave disturbance through physical signs and interviews, and observed and acoustically detected bats in 14 taxa with 19 species, including the Philippine endemic Hipposideros coronatus, known to roost in caves. It notes high species richness, signs of population decline, and high human disturbance.
