Abstract

The article discusses the proposal to conserve the name Dendrobium officinale against Dendrobium stricklandianum, Dendrobium tosaense, and Dendrobium pere-fauriei belonging to the family Orchidaceae. It mentions description of Chinese medicine plant, Dendrobium officinale in 1936 based on plants from a herbal medicine market in Zhengjiang Province, China. It mentions various characteristics of Dendrobium including slender stems, leaf uniformly green, and flower bract with brownish zone.
