L'ARTE DEL GESTO. DIDEROT E IL RUOLO DELLA PANTOMIMA NELLA RECITAZIONE.

The article focuses on the art of gesture in acting with specific reference to the literary works of Denis Diderot and the role of the pantomime in acting. It discusses Diderot's work analysing the acting skill of English actor David Garrick. It is opined that if the actor does not possess the art of pantomime, he could not know how to begin or to complete the scene. It states that in any tragedy, comedy or drama, the first action that the actor will play is a pantomime.
