Addressing Big-Data Challenges in Test and Evaluation.

Test and evaluation involves collecting and analyzing data and comparing results against system requirements in order to provide decision makers with information on progress of a design, performance, effectiveness, and suitability of a weapon system. Due to the networkcentric nature of warfare, the amount of test data collected has seen a dramatic increase in recent years. This article provides a survey of the latest database techniques and computer systems available for organizing, storing, and analyzing large volumes of test data. It provides a comprehensive evaluation of each technique and provides information about their applicability, benefits, and drawbacks to help test and evaluation users make an informed decision regarding the techniques to be used for a given data-analysis application.
