Abstract

The business education curriculum has long included courses for business (preparing students for business careers) and about business (preparing students with personal business literacy). Courses in the area of "about business" have evolved from traditional general business and business management courses. Introductory business and management courses ("basic business" courses) develop skills and knowledge for all students, for their personal lives and their careers. This chapter will discuss content and activities for introductory business and management courses at middle / junior high school, high school, postsecondary, and college levels.
