Abstract

The article focuses on the history, development and significance of the doctrine of equivalent law under the patent system of Australia and New Zealand. It discusses the judicial decision of the Australian High Court in the case of Lockwood Security Products Pty Ltd. v. Doric Products Pty Ltd. regarding the law of insufficiency and fair basis under the Patents Act 1990. It also looks at the Kimberly-Clark Australia v. Arico Trading International Pty Ltd. for intellectual property law.
